So I have been appointed as a Housemaster, to start in the new year. I am, of course, delighted. It's a role that is similar to those which I have done in the past at Trinity: involving the pastoral and academic welfare of boys in Years 10-12, running a team of tutors and managing and running house activities for all years within the House. Although there are a small number of boarders at school it doesn't involve boarding duties. It's a great step up for me and is a platform from which I can move on to other things - whatever they may be - in a few years time. It'll also give me a new challenge for the next academic year! Well, you know how I can get bored.
There's two and a half weeks of this term left, with much marking and some report writing to do in the coming days; plus making sure the Year 12 boys are as prepared as possible for the HSC. Then I'm off to South America for 12 days, where I'm meeting Andy for our whistle stop tour of Argentina, Chile, and a brief foray in to Brazil - and then it's back for Term 4.
In the more immediate future though, I need to catch up on some sleep....
Excellent news. Now use this time to brush up on your grammar.
