It would be fair to say that 2015 was a fairly momentous year, with the birth of Maeve and the start of our family. Here's a a month-by-month summary of 2015.
January
January saw concreting at the Burke's in near 40 degree heat (something of a tradition), fishing near Lane Cove, an all-night fishing trip on the Hawkesbury with Pete and Wayne and a trike ride around Sydney followed by a night out with Pete.

An unexpected delivery in our letterbox
Concreting.... again
Jenna and Drew were also in town for a visit
February

With Luke, the new member of my department, fresh from Trinity in the UK
March
I became an Australian citizen and voted in the NSW State Election.
The town crier starts the Citizenship Ceremony at Lane Cove Council. I got to pledge my allegiance to the Queen of Australia.
Receiving my citizenship certificate from the mayor of Lane Cove.
One of the longest ballot papers in the world - PR at its best
April
Maeve arrives at 11.04am on Tuesday 7th April, weighing 3.5kg.

Around Balmain and Rozelle
May
Back to work after paternity leave and the rugby season kicks in. I managed to lose my wedding ring on the school field at a rugby training session, plus the Australian Beer Festival in Sydney.
Having failed to find it in fading light on a cold winter's evening, I rented a metal detector and - somewhat miraculously - found it shortly after sunrise the following morning!
200 beers were made solely for the two day event in Sydney
June
Maeve becomes a regular at school rugby matches, plus we managed some days out around the harbour to enjoy the warm winter sunshine.
Clarke's Point, Woolwich
Deckhouse, Woolwich Dock, for Denise's birthday
July
The two week winter break was followed by a 3 day trip to Melbourne, where I attended an IB Course; Gill, Maeve and Denise came along too for the ride
A Game of Thrones night, with some of my work colleagues
Maeve and Gill at Sydney airport, on the way to Melbourne
Maeve enjoying her first plane flight! (more random strangers for her to stare at)
Soaking up the street art in the back alleys of Melbourne
Compulsory Melbourne tram photo
About to go on our first night out sans-child, to a restaurant in Melbourne - thanks to Denise for babysitting!
August
August saw more rugby watching!
September
Trip to the UK!
October
A flying visit from Gunno and Maeve's first experience of the ocean.
None too impressed
November
The weather warms up and Newington marks White Ribbon Day - with a week of related activities, including a human white ribbon, talks on gender inequality and a programme of classroom activities that I put together. The support from the school community was fantastic and was also picked up in the press. Check out the video:
And also this article in Sydney's Daily Telegraph (slightly sensationalised)
Wayne with a leatherjacket (released) at Clarke's Point, Woolwich
December
End of the school year and the start of summer - picnics, fishing trips and cricket
Off to the Newington staff Christmas party
Picnic a short walk down the road from our place
