Tonight I went to the ABC for the filming of Yes We Canberra! - a special series of shows by the Chaser's War on Everything in the run-up to the federal election, which takes place this Saturday. The show is broadcast tomorrow evening on ABC1 at 9.45pm, immediately before Lateline, the ABC's equivalent of Newsnight. I was fortunate to have one of the best seats in the audience, being let in to the studio before the public, so I should be on tv again for the briefest of moments.
The show was excellent; I haven't laughed so much in ages. As ever, some of the material was pretty edgy, but they sent-up the election campaigns of the two main parties brilliantly. After the show I joined Antoinette, Sian and Michael in the Green Room for drinks. It's almost a year to the day that I last went to the ABC for a Chaser show (that time it was the last every show in that format - the election specials notwithstanding). This time, though, I got most of the jokes.
