New Year's Eve 2010

It's been a beautiful weekend here - warm and sunny. It rained on Friday and evening and was decidedly autumnal and a bit chilly on Saturday morning when I left the house for rugby. I put on a jumper for the first time in months (it being 1st May, too); but by the time I got to Centennial Parklands it was scorchio and I was without suncream... We played Sydney Boys' High; I'll spare you the match report, but we lost narrowly. Centennial Parklands is 550 acres, so whilst it only took 20 minutes to get there, it was well that I allowed over an hour, as it took almost that long to find the pitch! Newington play in black and white, and family and spectatators often dress in kind, so they're fairly easy to spot, thankfully! Today I went for a walk around Waverley Cemetery and Bronte and Clovelly beaches - stunningly beautiful in the late afternoon autumn sunshine.

For New Year's Eve this year Kit and I are going to book a skippered yacht on Sydney Harbour. Anyone who fancies joining us should drop me a line in the next few days. I anticipate it'll cost about $400 p/p for a  6-8 hour cruise. Go on, you know you want to....
