Well there's not a great deal to report from here - the quiet before the storm perhaps (there is a non-metaphorical storm brewing, as it happens). Whilst those reading from England are looking at the possibility of a White Christmas, just to make you feel even better it looks like I'm heading for a Wet Christmas - the forecast is hot and sunny till Thursday, then rain for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I can almost hear the smugness from here. It will put something of a dampner on my plan to go to the beach, that's for sure. If we do go, the only other people bound to be there will be Brits who will no doubt stubbornly refuse to give in to the elements if the temperature is above 20 degrees.
I went to a rather fun "Naughty and Nice" Christmas fancy dress (inc mask) party at the weekend with Sian and her friends in Annandale (near Balmain), and have largely been recovering since then, and gearing up for Christmas; fortunately that's a lot less stresssful here than in London simply because all the shops are big and the population is relatively smaller.
I'm planning to run 14km tonight; provided I don't get struck by lightning.
You're kidding me. It's going to rain on Christmas Day? For God's sake. I don't know why we bother.
ReplyDeleteSee you soon,
Robert
ps. 'lightning'. Why can no one spell that?
Thanks. Amended.
ReplyDeleteIt's only going to rain because you're coming.
