The Light Rail Pub Crawl

A wet Sunday afternoon saw me and Dono embark on the Sydney Light Rail Pub crawl (featuring three pubs, so the pub crawl was pretty light too); complete with anoraks. Dono's company has worked on some of the stations, so he was keen to see them in actio.

The Sydney Light Rail is an underrated mode of transport in the city and one that is set to grow, with the upcoming creation of a line to Manly. Sunday fares are $2.50 for unlimited travel and easy to just "hop on" (or in our case, "hops" on).

The 'network' is currently one line - the L1 - which runs from Central Station, around Darling Harbour and the Pyrmont peninsula, then out to Dulwich Hill to the west. Although some of the later stops are in residential or back-end-of-nowhere places, the first half of the line goes to some great spots; in particular the circuit around Pyrmont.

The 'Glasgo Warms' [sic] was not the finest establishment on the tour

All aboard the L1 to Dulwich Hill

Tap on, then taps on!

The closest I'll get to catching a fish

Our final destination, the Quarryman's Hotel in Pyrmont is one of the best craft beer pubs in Sydney, with an impressive array of 24 beers on tap - a pub crawl all on its own.
