Highlights of 2014

Starting in January 2014....

More of a lowlight than a highlight given the drubbing England received, but seeing a day's play of The Ashes at the SCG is always a bit special.

Erecting Pete's deck in the summer holidays- a big job in hot conditions. Beer, power tools and small children - what could possibly go wrong?

Gill's 30th birthday celebration in the Hunter Valley with Angelique, Dono, Anna and Sarah

Floating down the Colo River hunting bass in the autumn: "it's not about the fishing"

Lunching out at Catalina's in Rose Bay -  the best restaurant in the world (maybe). Always a bit extravagant, but always a bit awesome.

After four years, I finally completed my Graduate Diploma in Education in July, qualifying me to teach in NSW. Gill completed her Masters of Teaching (Primary) - a far bigger effort in shorter time, too.

Winter holiday in tropical Port Douglas in Far North Queensland in July - one of the top highlight's of the year for me.

A day later we were on a winter mini-break in winter with Anna and Matt in Ebor, near Armidale. Frozen waterfalls, roaring fires and the Game of Thrones board game; truly A Song of Fire and Ice.

One of several days out at the rugby in the winter months - peaking with Waratahs epic win ine Super XV rugby final. On the same day we discovered we were having one of these:

Possibly the dullest blog post of 2014, but buying a 'new' car in the spring was a significant step up for us in readiness for the baby

Angelique's birthday on the harbour in November to watch the skiffs racing turned in to a harbour booze-cruise

Dallas' wedding at Palm Beach in late November was a great weekend away

Babymoon at Bannister's, Mollymook in December

The 2014 ABCC was probably the best yet

Christmas at the Burke's is a wonderful finale to the year

2014 was always going to be 'the year of consolidation', after our wedding last year. With our little girl due in 3 months time, 2015 will be a big year!

    1. And we thought it was a quiet year! 2015 will be exciting with a big change on the way.... I expect there will be fewer pictures featuring beer, wine and mini-breaks and more of little people! x

    1. Haha no, to be fair it was particularly dull and was a result of me trying to include a bit of variety in what I blog about. I knew next to nothing about cars before the process so I was kind of documenting what I had discovered! x
