Two Birthdays

Last week was the official celebration of the 150th birthday of Newington College.

We were visited by Her Excellency the Governor of New South Wales who officially opened our new buildings, had the annual Founders Concert in Sydney Town Hall, and played our rugby fixture against Trinity College at Stadium Australia as a curtain-raiser to the Waratahs v Reds. We also hosted students from our brother school in Tonga, Tupou College.

Not quite the 84 000 that turned out the previous Saturday....

Outside Catalina Restaurant, Rose Bay; this was an engagement present from my mum that we had been saving up for a sunny Sunday afternoon! Certainly one of the best meals we've ever had (despite the pigeon embedded in my head)

Sunday saw the annual Aroma Festival at The Rocks - a celebration of all things coffee. We thought we'd go along, obviously; however, the huge crowds meant that getting a coffee at any of the innumerable tents that had been set up for the event involved a 45 minute wait.

At last... a long black.

Thankfully, we were able to take respite in a public house that served a slightly longer black with only a 1.59 minute wait....
