The Proposal

Last night Gill and I went out to celebrate our two year anniversary; we went by ferry to Milson's Point (which is next to the Harbour Bridge) for cocktails in the Deck bar at Luna Park, followed by a ferry to nearby McMahon's Point, where I asked her to marry me.

She said:
"Are you serious?"
"OK"
"Yes"
"Are you sure?"
and finally:
"I think I'm going to be sick."

I drove out to Kings Langley on Tuesday night to asked Wayne's permission to ask her; I decided to just turn up rather than phone ahead, which meant I had to wait over three hours from them to come back from being at Castle Burke. My cover story for not getting home until 9.30pm involved having 'been for a drink' with some of the other housemasters after an art exhibition; it landed me in hot water for three days ("Why are you going out to the pub when you've got all this work to do?" etc etc).

Anyway, after Gill had sufficiently recovered from the shock/excitement we had a lovely meal at Sails Restaurant by the water, where she successfully managed not to be sick.

She'll be wearing her grandmother's engagement ring until we buy one together in the next couple of weeks. No date or location as yet, but provisionally it will be late 2013, probably in this part of the world.
