Australia v India Test Match, Sydney (Day 2)

Wayne, Pete and I received tickets for the second day of the Test Match at the Sydney Cricket Ground for Christmas; we had excellent  seats in the Brewongle Stand, above the corporate boxes and mercifully in the shade all day (from about 10.30 anyway); although this didn't stop me and Pete getting a little sunburnt, despite repeated applications of suncream.

Although we saw only one wicket fall during the day, we did see Michael Clarke hit 251 not out and Ricky Ponting make his first century for a couple of years. Not to take anything away from some outstanding batting, the Indian bowling attack was woeful and MS Dhoni, the captain, seemed to be dealing with plenty of unwanted advice at the end of overs from teammates on occasions; never a good sign.

We thought it only appropriate that we dress up for the 100th Test Match at the SCG - so Wayne bought three Australia "ties" and I picked up some white vests, which proved comfortable in the heat, even though it didn't quite get to the predicted 39 degrees.

In summary: cricket, cold beer, meat pies, cricket, cold beer, dinner in Chinatown, cold beer.

All in all, a great day out.

perfect spot! (the bar was pretty close, too)
