Nelson Bay

Just got back form a weekend with Gill in Nelson Bay, which is a quiet town about 2.5 hours north of Sydney. I met Gill after work in Chatswood on Friday afternoon and on the way up I got talking with the bus driver at McMahons Point; he asked me to take some photos with his camera of him and his bus, and in return I got one of both of us (See first photo). Gill and I stayed in a beach villa (see pic below), and whilst it rained intermittently on Saturday, we got to check out the beach and feed the birds (lorikeets and a kookaburra); the weather today (Sunday) was glorious; we went to a couple of beaches including Stockton Beach, known for being the largest moving sand mass in the southern hemisphere and on the way home we stopped at Newcastle for a couple of beers by the water.

  1. I think you've omitted a few of the highlights...

Such as the 300 dead birds we had to wade through to get to that large moving mass of sand.

And surely the colourful population of Newcastle warrants a mention? ;)
