Back to School

In case you're not yet bored of views from our balcony, this was around dawn this morning just before I set out for my run.

End of week 1, term 4 and start of the HSC - I'm over the jet-lag and pleased to have had a successful week without an office or any of our (boxed-up) departmental resources, due to the extensive building works - our new, temporary office should be ready next week. Given I have had to carry everything with me to each lesson all week I have felt like a mobile teaching unit (as well as having had a good workout - my main teaching room is on the second floor and reachable via a rather circuitous route). I've managed to complete my final DipEd assignment of the year this week, too - 3 days early, which means I can make the most of the weekend.

As is often the case with holidays, it is only on my return that I have properly appreciated it. That said it's always lovely coming back to Sydney, and given the sight and smell of tree blossom on the streets, very mild and lighter evenings and pleasantly warm sunshine in the day it's a great place to return to in the spring; this is definitely my favourite time of year.
