We signed the lease of our new house today!


We went over there tonight to check it out, measure the rooms for furniture and to try some tester paints on the wall. I know I keep going on about how busy I am, but it's going to be a fairly crazy six days, until my DipEd exam and the 200 more reports I need to write by next Thursday. I managed to buy a long needed new bed today which will be delivered to the new house on Friday afternoon, when hopefully I will be able to make a start on the painting. Our official move date is Saturday 12th June when Kit and I have booked a removalist, so there is much that needs sorting out before then; next week we have a carpenter coming over to dismantle then rebuild Kit's expensive, custom-built wardrobe which I will be using because his room has built-ins.


I'm certainly pleased to be out of here before July, which is the coldest month - the new place will not be as cold at night as where I am now, and, just as importantly, there won't be a small child 'playing' the recorder outside my window at 7am on a Sunday morning. Or at least there better not be....
