Today we had confirmation that our rental application for a townhouse in East Balmain has been accepted. The rental market in Sydney is highly competitive and requires an unbelievable amount of supporting paperwork, so it's quite stressful. It's a two bedroom, two bathroom house near the East Balmain ferry wharf, with a west facing It has a spacious kitchen, large lounge with west facing balcony, lock up garage with two car space. and I'll be living with Kit and Jen (who is Kit's girlfriend) and we hope to move in about two weeks time.
It means paying rent on two properties for four weeks - there was always going to be overlap as our lease is up here at the end of June, but it will mean a tight month or so. It does enable us to move at our leisure, though when we sign the lease and get the keys next week.
