Humidity & Liquidity

It's rained hard almost constantly for several days and nights now, but it's still absurdly humid - hovering around 90% day and night, although it's hard to be sure as I can barely see the computer screen for all the water in the air. The paint is coming off the doors. It's actually peeling off the doors. I've seen a few bugs just lying on their backs, as if they've thought 'sod this, it's just too humid to bother trying to stay alive'.

I have received my first pay cheque, which, when I went to Woolies for my weekly 'porridge and soya milk' shop today, and other bits and pieces, I realised I was, for the first time, spending Australian dollars - not UK pounds converted in to Aussie dollars at some pathetic rate of exchange. It means I no longer have to do mental arithmatic (at which I'm rubbish anyway, even though multiplying by 1.8 isn't that difficult) and spend money that I've earned.... Hurray!

Me, my debit card and a receipt from Woolies

Which reminds me - Woolies have the awesome jingle - taken from their tv ad - which plays almost constantly in the store. I totally love it but be careful as it gets in your head.... Click here for the Woolies ad

Right, off to go and sweat somewhere else now....
