Here too, to help get you in that Christmasy mood, is a photo of the Christmas tree in St Martin's Place, that I took when I went to the Rocks Moonlight Markets on Friday.

In honour of Simon Bark becoming an official follower of the blog, it seems entirely appropriate to play another track from "Bark, The Herald Angels Sing". This is the first song on the album, and, mercifully, one of the shortest - entitled "Ourgh Yer Kneurgh", and it's one of my favourites. The pause/play button is at the bottom of this page. Some of you may be utterly mystified by what this is about. Well, I'm not sure I can explain as I don't actually kneurgh.

I've just had my school's Christmas carol concert and it was difficult singing the carols without bursting into 'oorghs' and 'yer kneurghs'. Something is definitely lost by singing in the modern English rather than the original northern.
