Anyone who has been to these parts will be familiar with one of the leading brands of Australian cheese, widely available in most stores, with - to British ears - a rather dodgy name: COON. It was on special offer in Woolies and I fancied cheese and pickle sandwiches, which were good enough reasons to get some.

In "The Full COON Story" the company claim that the brand, created in 1931, was named after Edward Coon - its founder. However, this has been
disputed by academics who claim that Edward Coon was a later employee, and that it was so called because of the black wrapper in which it was orginially contained. Anyway, it's very good cheese. If with a slightly questionable name.

So how yummy was Zumbo's Orange and Date cake?

This much.
