Three months today

I've now been here for three months - though it feels much longer for some reason. I can't quite believe how easily I've settled in and how well things have gone so far. Change is on the way over the next week though - I finish at university and will then being trying to get some casual teaching work in the run up to Christmas. I'm really looking forward to working again, and earning some much needed money. I've registered with a teaching agency who say they will get me some work - how much, though, I've no idea. Casual teaching pays pretty well, but I could be doing anything anywhere.... which will in fact be good experience for me.

Last night Kit and I went for a walk around Birchgrove Oval down by the water (hence the photos of Snails Bay), as part of his new 'get fit' regime, before we went to the Town Hall pub in Balmain to meet Polly, a couple of her friends, and Aviva for a few drinks, which was a lot of fun. The one man band (vocals/sax and a backing track) made the mistake of doing a Michael Jackson number. I think most of you know what the consequences of that were for me....

Summer is definitely on the way - I went to Nielsen's Park for lunch today, which is on one of the eastern harbour bays; the sea looked lovely, and, reassuringly, there are shark nets (as you can see in the photos).

Kit is in Europe on a school trip for the whole of the summer holidays, so I had thought I might be on my own for Christmas; but I awoke this morning to some great news - Robert and Georgina are coming to stay for Christmas and New Year, which I'm really excited about.
