I also have been up late finishing my last essay: "Three themes have characterised popular views of Australia's convict past: shame, fascination and heritage" - Discuss with reference to three novels/films/heritage sites. Probably not as good as the other three research essays, but the most enjoyable.

It's been a busy final couple of days at uni - I completed my final test this afternoon an essay on: "Australia has little interest in Asia except for a hard edged interest in security and trade"; it was probably the best of the three, largely because I found it the most interesting. There's plenty written on modern views on multiculturalism and Australian attitudes towards Asia; and it's pretty topical - one opposition MP suggested today that terrorists might be hiding amongst the boatload of asylum seekers in the Timor Sea, which was greeted with 'disgust' by the PM. The truth is I can't be bothered to revise for tests. I'll happily go away and research a topic and write an essay on it, but not learn facts to reproduce them in a test that measures how fast you can write.

Today's pictures: a spider (not a nasty one) in the kitchen; and a smoothie I made this evening: raspberries, strawberries and redcurrants with mango and lemon sorbets, yoghurt and honey. VERY yummy....

Yay for the final test! Glad they've gone well. x
ReplyDeleteAmen to that Vix! Hmm I don't think I've done as well as I could, as I really can't be bothered to memorize material; fortunately, of the four courses, three had final tests, and they varied from 10%-20% of the total for each. My other sections (tutorial participation & essays) would score pretty highly I think. Not that any of it matters anyway!
