Woolwich Pier Hotel

After uni today Kit and I drove across the Harbour Bridge to a great little Thai place for some pad thai at Milsom's Point, which is right at the foot of the bridge in North Sydney. We then headed west through the northern suburbs to Woolwich and Greenwich, which are on the opposite side of the harbour (which as you all know, of course, is properly called Port Jackson) - we can see both suburbs from our balcony. We went to the Woolwich Pier Hotel (for the uninitiated, pubs in Australia are called hotels - due to a need to get around licensing restrictions in the early C20) -  it has great view across to the city and Harbour Bridge.

I handed my first mini-assignment in today. It was that same tutorial as last week when we played that horrific 'getting to know you' game. Clearly he doesn't like me - it's mutual, actually - as today we had to say our names, and then pick a historical person whose name began with the first letter of our name (oh please) and something we remembered from our lecture this morning. He picked me first again. I just stared back at him. He insisted. I think I said 'oh for God's sake'. I was then roundly patronised for offering 'Margaret Thatcher' - "Oh yes! Very good, very good!". My patience was tried further as we went around the room and several people "couldn't think of a famous person" whose name started with the same first letter (I mean, come on 'Robo' or whatever your name is, "it's not exactly brain surgery"). It was in fact just like being back in primary school, but without the milk bottles.
