Leichardt Cinema
Kit is a member of our local picturehouse, so tonight we went along to see "Beautiful Kate" - which I thought was seriously good. It's pretty heavy stuff, but superbly written and acted, and ultimately very uplifting. It's very Australian, being set in outback South Australia; the book on which it is based is set in the States and it's been adapted for the screen and directed by a woman who (quite literally) lives just round the corner; she's married to Ben Mendelsohn, from "Cocktail", all those years ago, who plays the lead in this film. If it comes on in the UK at one of the picturehouses, I'd recommend going to see it if you can.
I've started hyperlinking stuff in my blog - you may have noticed - it gets quite addictive (you may have noticed that too), but I'll try and keep a lid on it).
