After a trip in to the city this morning to get a cheap printer and a mobile, we walked to the local oval to see Wests Tigers (the local team in Balmain) play the Cowboys, from north Queensland. The Tigers won 34-14 in a really good game; we were well positioned to see three of the Tigers' tries in the first half. It was a proper Aussie experience - we were on the grassy hill opposite the grandstand, where there were families with picnics drink
ing VB, groups of men drinking VB, groups of women drinking VB.... and almost all of them decked out in orange. We were good though and had coffee. Caught the sun a bit today in the ground and I haven't yet got a hat (it is winter, to be fair)!Just waiting for the rain to clear from Lord's to see the Aussie second innings. Tomorrow I go in to UNSW to find out what's going on with my course....
