It's a little hard to believe I've now completed five years at Newington. Both the school and my job have changed much in this time! If you've not seen the website, or haven't seen it for a few years, it's a little bit fancy; check it our here.
We have, of course, been rocked by the tragic event in the centre of Sydney this week and I've been glued to the coverage. Much more will come out in the coming days, but for those overseas who are not aware of #Illridewithyou that went viral of Twitter, check it out here; wonderful to see something positive come out of such a terrible situation.

Yesterday, Wayne and I went up to The Entrance on the Central Coast with an experienced former colleague of his who took us beach fishing for whiting. At last, someone who knows what they're doing! After a 1.5 hour drive, the first thing we did when we arrived was to check out the bait shop to get some live worms; the second thing we did was to go to the pub. A couple of beers and plenty of chat later and with the sun at our backs, it was time to catch some fish! We must've caught around 20 between us from around 5.30pm till 8.00pm as the tide ran out and the sun dipped behind us.
Catching my first (small!) whiting. They did get bigger!

- The Casburke Christmas
- Cricket
- NYE Fireworkks
- More Cricket
- Possible trip up to the Mid-North Coast & the Tamworth Country Music Festival
- Even More Cricket (The World Cup)
Stay tuned in the next few weeks....
