We had a view of some of the 9pm fireworks from our balcony, but for midnight we walked to the end of our street, from which we can see the top of the Harbour Bridge; it turned out to be a great vantage point to see the best of the fireworks, before we returned home for dessert wine, port and some YouTube karaoke.
On a hot New Year's Day, Gill and I headed out for brunch in Leichhardt with Michael and Sarah before crashing out in from of the final instalment of The Pillars of the Earth (courtesy of ABC iView), by which we have both been transfixed over the holiday period.

Gill and I head down to Jervis Bay on the South Coast of NSW for five days tomorrow, so (hopefully, if the weather is good) there will be some more summer photos in a week or so.
Happy New Year to all readers of the blog!
