New Home!

We have moved!

Here is a map of Sydney Harbour, with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House in the bottom right. We now live in Abbotsford, at the 'A' flag on the left of the map, with views across Hen and Chicken Bay.

After a year in our one bedroom, weatherboard house in Rozelle, Gill and I decided not to renew our lease, and today moved in to our new home. Whilst we loved having a backyard and being close to some awesome pubs, the cost of living in a prime location so close to the city, the damp during the winter months and the lack of living space meant that we wanted to move.

We inspected several properties a couple of weekends ago; or rather, Gill did, as most inspections are on Saturdays when I have rugby. On Friday afternoon I signed a lease on a two bedroom unit that I had not been inside; so it's fair to say that it's a good thing that I trust my girlfriend's judgment. I'm not sure who was the more nervous when we put the key in the lock and stepped inside.

The removalists arrived at 8am (along with Wayne and Denise), whilst I left to go to rugby at The King's School in Parramatta at 9am; so just as last year, I managed to not be present when I moved home. Gill has used these removalists several times, and they were fantastic; efficient, hard working and, importantly, calm and relaxed too. For almost five hours work, which included the six flights of stairs, it was $540; totally worth it! We are now unpacked and settled in.

So what's it like? Well, we don't have the internet yet (I'm posting this via Gill's iPhone) so I can't add any photos yet; but it's  awesome! It's a large flat, top floor, two bedroom, balcony with water and city views, great aspect, reverse air-conditioning, lock-up garage, freshly painted, on a quiet street next to a park.

Please email me if you'd like to know our new address.
