Paedophilia and Packing

Two weeks ago Gill and I went to the Opera House to see Bell Shakespeare's production of Dr Faustus (Bell Shakespeare is Australia's answer to the RSC and they're very good). Having seen it before in London (a promenade performance in a warehouse in Wapping - probably the best night at the theatre I've ever had) I was prepared for its 'confronting' nature  - though this production was seriously full-on; and even more intense given that we were in row 2! Not quite a chilled night out at the theatre, but it was a fabulous production and great to see John Bell playing Mephistopheles.

It's now T minus 6 days before we get the keys to our new house - and it's been a weekend of packing....

We've hired removalists which should reduce the stress a little - though I am at school all day next Saturday for the annual 'Back to Newington Day' which is one of the biggest days in the school calendar, as we take on King's in our block fixtures. So Gill has had to enlist some family and friends to assist in my absence. Fortunately I think we've broken the back of it today. Of course, it made sense to try and make some kind of dent in to our 65 bottles of wine, to save taking all of them across Sydney next week....

  1. Oh dear... is that a lot? It's the accumulation of winetasting holidays and buying in bulk... we see it as an "investment"; or alternatively it's a down-payment for liver cirrhosis...
