"Our" new home!

So on Saturday Gill and I went househunting. Rugby was cancelled so we decided to take advantage of the Saturday rental viewings and embarked on our five hour viewing marathon. It's a good time of year to look, as rents are cheaper in the winter, when Aussies tend to hibernate and make do with their humble abodes in the  "cold and/or wet". Gill produced an itinerary of viewings in ten minute increments, beginning at 10am and concluding at 3pm with a brief interlude for lunch. Despite the Nazi-like precision in which the day was structured, we succeeded in identifying what we believed was the perfect home. Ticking all the boxes, from outdoor bbq area, to neat new fittings requiring minimum maintenance and ample storage, we had found ourselves a winner! Unfortunately, about thirty other couples were of the same mind.

As it turned out, the majority of rentals we viewed were managed by the same real estate agent. By the end of the day we were old friends and when he asked which property we preferred, we couldn't help but feel quietly confident that we were in with a chance.

Monday at 9.04am drill sergeant had begun a renewed assault on the agent and after finalising a few more formalities (and the odd sexual favour) we were in! And i would like to present to you our new home, as of 1pm today, moving in mid-August, and conveniently located within 40 metres of the best pub in Sydney, The Three Weeds! It's also within walking distance of arguably the best strip of cafes and pubs in Sydney.
