This weekend has been a combination of shopping and cheese: on Saturday we had planned to do the 10km walk from The Spit to Manly, but as it was wet we went to Enmore instead to check out the vintage shops. Although I wasn't the driving force behind this plan, I clearly did very well out of it, having purchased some excellent re-fitted vintage shirts (one of which I am wearing in my new profile pic). We finished up with a couple of pints in a similarly vintage pub in Glebe to watch the Super 15s rugby.
Today we went to Surry Hills. Whilst Enmore is more trendy-grungey, Surry Hills is more trendy-gay, being close to Oxford St and the gay bars and clubs - so I felt right at home. I managed to pick up another couple of shirts at a real bargain (Gill obviously bought more dresses). For Christmas I was given a 'taster' experience for two and a choice of establishments at which I could use it, so we followed up our shopping with a trip to Formaggi Ocello, described as a "mecca for cheese nuts" for a personal tour of the 'maturation room' (we could do with one of those at school), tasting session and then a cheese plate for two with two glasses of wine. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday!
Oh hello crazy lady with a cheese knife.
