We'll be only be here for about three months; when we get back from the UK in July the plan is to move to a bigger place back in the inner west - ideally Balmain but any of the suburbs around there. I'm angling for a small house (not a flat) and a backyard so I can hone my barbequeing technique.
We've had torrential rain here all weekend, though we manage to stay pretty dry during the move. Meg, Pete and Paddy joined us last night for pizza. Here's Paddy modelling the turban Gill brought me back from Turkey....
The only major excitement this weekend was when I went to pick up my work shirts from the dry cleaners ($12.50 for 5 shirts, washed & ironed - bargain!) and we saw 3 'youths' looking VERY dodgy as they went in to an expensive-looking house in Mosman... (one stuck his head out from around the gate and called the others in as they glanced around furtively from under their hoodies). So we called the police. It being Mosman ("Mozman, darling") it's uber-posh so not much action for the coppers at the weekend - so within 3 minutes high speed and blaring we had two police cars and a battlebus pull up! All very exciting. Turns out that the hoodies had a mate who lived there, but, according to a neighbour, they are all very dodgy, and we were thanked for our 'neighbourly' action. It only eclipsed lunch in a cafe in Neutral Bay, where Gill returned from the toilet with about 12 inches worth of toilet roll stuck out the back of her trousers... HAHAHA!!! In hindsight I only wish I hadn't said anything....
