It's rather difficult to follow Adrian's post (by which I mean write a post after him, not that it doesn't make sense). We did indeed have a great time. It was appropriate, and reminiscent of 'old times', that only after we'd been to the pub and for a curry late on Sunday night did Adrian decide to check the time of his train to Canberra on Monday morning - at which point we discovered that it left earlier than he had 'thought' - at 6.58am from Central Station.
Kit and I on the 'Bay Run', walking back from Leichhardt Oval after the Tigers' match at the weekend.
Term ends tomorrow (Friday) - I am soo tired I cannot wait for a lie-in on Saturday. I've not seen much of the World Cup so far as I've been too tired to get up in the middle of the night. Fortunately England's game against Germany is on at midnight on Sunday, so I will definitely see that game. I watched the Slovenia game on fast forward replay over porridge this morning. Seeing England play at 12 times the speed was actually more entertaining and also saved a lot of time.
I have three weeks holiday which is just fantastic, as this term is generally seen as 'the worst' in terms of workload - I'm glad it's nearly over and I can look forward to my trip to Magnetic Island from Tuesday.
I received this picture last week, entitled 'the only way for Australia would have beaten Germany':
This obviously would only work for England if, in the inevitable penalty shoot-out, the goal was uphill; but even then an incompetent midfielder or defender will still manage to drive the ball in to row Z.
