Camp

Here's some photos of camp last week - in the Belanglo State Forest, 2.5 hours south west of Sydney. A dozen Year 9 boys, with 3 Year 11 leaders (and an Outdoor Education Group leader). Belanglo is the site of the backpacker murders a few years ago (serial killer kidnanpped and beheaded them burying the bodies in the forest - thought I'd say this in hindsight....).

It rained non-stop for 2 days, but we had a warm and sunny last day (my birthday). I awoke at 6 am to a text from Andy which read "I bet you didn't think you'd wake up in a tent on your 34th birthday?". Quite. It was 5 degrees at the point as the rain had cleared overnight and a heavy dew descended. It was, well, 'an experience', and in some, inexplicable if masochistic sense, enjoyable.
