Parent & Teacher Evening

Tonight was my first "Parent & Teacher Evening" - Year 12 (i.e. final year of school). I say evening, but it started at 4pm, and I was done by 6pm! At Trinity, we would start at that time (for years it was even later) and could easily be there at 10 - no chance of that here. A bell sounds every five minutes to keep everyone moving. It was enjoyable (but then I love these sorts of things).

Afterwards I went to an excellent Portugese steakhouse in Petersham, which is just down the road from school, with three colleagues. Petersham is the Portugese immigrant suburb where they make the yummy Portugese tarts that I treat myself to on weekends.

Tomorrow is the last day of teaching this term - then it's Head of the River on Saturday (climax of the season regatta for all the GPS schools), then off camping and doing heaven knows what in the country next week. I'm exhausted - I've been trying to get through HSC marking too this week ,in time for the PT Evening, and have been fighting off a cold too. Looking forward to catching up on some sleep at the weekend....

  1. I'am interested in the 'doing heaven knows what in the country'. Does that involve 3rd parties or does heaven lay something on? DCI

  2. How much do the Portugese tarts charge for a Putney rub?
