First day today - it went well and I enjoyed it.
It's been exhausting, and I didn't leave till around 7.30, but I'm glad to have started properly - at last!
I stubbornly wore my jacket all morning, before succumbing to the heat; still waiting for a proper storm to clear the humidity. We do have air-con in the classrooms, but my main teaching room and department base are on the 2nd floor of two different wings, which means a lot of stairs!
For all the (subtle and not so subtle) cultural differences, plus all the normal variations you would expect in terms of how schools do things, boys really don't differ that much!
In other, mundane news, we have a possum in our tree - the neighbours have been putting food on top of the fence for him at night, so I get a good view of him as he creeps by the patio doors. Kit has a friend staying for a week or two who arrives tonight, so we've reorganised the house and turned the study in to a spare room.
I am now close to brain dead and have been staring blankly at the screen now for several minutes, so I'll leave it there for now....
