1. Idiom: "Too easy" (which, I understand, means something equivalent to 'no problem').

2. Sight: Very hard one, this... Harbour Bridge with Opera House behind it? View of the city from The Gap (geographical location, not shop)? View from the lighthouse at Byron Bay? Casey spilling various foodstuffs down himself?
3. Juice: Pineapple, apple and mint.
4. Animal sighting: possum up a tree by the bay in Sydney.
Least favourites so far:
1. Sight: Nudists at a beach at The Gap taunting the tourists with their private parts.
2.Smell: on our return from Byron Bay, the bag of food we'd left to smoulder in the house before we left.
The fact that I can only think of two things to put on the 'least favourites' list is testament to the fantastic time we're having here. It has been absolutely brilliant so far; we've seen and done so many different things, despite the weather's best efforts to hinder us. If you're reading this from England and are thinking that I have no right to complain about the weather, then I take your point, but have a look at this:
Yes: that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is what they call The Blue Mountains. We drove for about 2 hours in increasing rain and fog, and when we arrived, we felt our way toward the viewing platform with only the sound of a man playing a digeridoo in the distance to guide us. And then there they were: The Blue Mountains. Apparently, behind all that fog were the Three Sisters. I took a closer look, but to no avail:
Australia was determined not to offer up her treasures to us today. Luckily, an obliging koala was happy for us to take some consolation in his arms, so all was not lost.
We actually had a lovely day and some nice introductory bushwalking, at the end of which we saw some very pretty waterfalls.
Given how long it's taking me to upload photos to this blog, I shall leave the pictures of New Year's Eve for now and hope that Robert covers those when he posts. Suffice it to say, I saw the most fantastic fireworks display I've ever seen on that night.
Well, as Robert has just pointed out, this blogging business is nowhere near as easy as Casey (now) makes it look. No more ribbing from me about tedious posts. Sorry if this has been such a one, but it's been a long day and I'm off for a run with the gentlemen now which, if it's anything like last time we went, will involve me getting lost and failing to find my way around a circular route...Luckily, Robert found me on that occasion - we think that I may have unwittingly been heading off in the direction of Perth. Well, it would certainly have been a good workout.
