Sydney Night Noodle Markets

The Sydney International Food Festival is on at the moment, so on the way home from uni this evening I stopped at one of the main events, the Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park. Spring has returned this week, so it was pleasantly warm in the early evening, and much lighter now that it's daylight saving. There's food from across Asia with al fresco dining under Chinese lanterns; it was hugely busy, with the typical mix of people you'd expect from that part of Sydney; city workers in suits, rucksacked tourists, glamed-up gay men in white singlets, couples on their way to the theatre or opera, and families enjoying a day out in the school holidays. I had an excellent, and very hot, chicken pad thai followed by coconut and lychee ice cream. There's also an excellent 'Sydney Life' photographic exhibition which lines one of the main paths in the centre of the park which I hope to back to see later in the week.
