The biggest pub I've ever patronised....

Today Kit picked up his brand spanking new car; so we went for a drive this evening up to the northern beaches which are about an hour away (in 'Summer Bay' country),  to the Newport Arms which is right by the water; it's a truly massive pub, and had, correspondingly, truly massive steak burgers and grilled ribs as well. I've been eating salad and sushi for days so it didn't seem quite as bad....

Even more excitingly, the new washing machine arrived yesterday so I got a chance to fully launch it today. It washed my clothes and even spun them afterwards. That might not sound exciting, but believe me, it really is in our laundry department. We've been struggling along with one that would wash clothes, but would often take days to empty and to spin, by which time they needed washing again. I had clothes locked in an eternal economy wash cycle from which they couldn't escape. Next week we should get the dryer replaced. It's brand new but has one minor flaw. It doesn't spin. It's a major drawback for a tumble dryer. You may have spotted a theme amongst our white goods. The fridge doesn't spin either, but it's not required to. I had hoped the new washing machine might have a conversation with the tumble dryer and persuade it to give spinning a whirl....

  1. This whole post better be knowing and ironic. (On the plus side, it's making all those posts about the contents of your various meals seem much more interesting....)
