Day One

I arrived this morning at 6.45 after a 10 hour flight with Korean Air from Seoul - having had  a dinner of seaweed soup and rice, with a desert of rice cakes, and breakfast of rice porridge followed by flavoured rice. So when Kit picked me up, it was straight to Bronte Beach for eggs, salmon and mushrooms on toast. It was a bit chilly, but great to sit out to in the sun.
Had a stroll through Balmain, which is a lovely leafy suburb in the inner west, with lots of cool shops and cafes. Sorted out a bank account, which took ages as I spent most of the time chatting to the guy at the desk, who wanted to chat about New Testament Theology and teaching.
The house is cool. I'm unpacked and have a list of things to get tomorrow. That's if I ever wake up when I get to bed as I'm falling asleep now (it's 6pm here, 9am at home) - as is Kit - who is staying up every night to watch the Ashes and therefore also living on GMT plus one...
Glad to get here at last. Still not entirely sure what's going n with my course. I've successfully enrolled online, but seemed to have missed various orientation sessions this week... Term starts next week, but my classes don't start till week 2, so I've no idea yet what's going on.... and frankly, I'm too tired now to really care....

  1. Helloooo over there! Glad to hear you're getting stuck in already - very impressed that you've sorted out a bank account and stuff so quickly. Hope you have a nice long sleep now. x

  2. So do I... I've actually perked up a bit with a glass of wine over dinner. Am now wearing a jumper and a fleece whilst watching England's tail collapse at Lord's (that's cricket, Vix x).
