Centre for Ethics - Inaugural Lecture

This evening was the inaugural lecture for the new Centre for Ethics at school, which is being run by my HoD and strongly promoted by the Headmaster. The speaker was the Chief Crown Prosecutor for NSW, Mark Tedeschi, who delivered a well pitched and fascinating talk about ethics and the law to a packed auditorium of students, staff, parents and other members of the wider community. This was followed by an excellent dinner at a local restaurant (the kangaroo was excellent!) with the Head, guest speaker, three other staff and the Chairman of Governors, who is a retired High Court judge. All this was on the back of a day's teaching, so I'm now exhausted; I'm up in 6 hours so it's off to bed I think..... For those interested here is the pdf brochure of the programme for the year - next up is world reknowned animal ethicist, Peter Singer.

  2. Yes, though I expect he'd probably say we all are. 'Animal rights campaigner' then, but you know that. Look I'm up at 5.30 most days and may've been a bit tired when I wrote it.....
